What’s included in a deep clean
A deep clean is a full clean. Nothing is left out, and every room gets the same attention. If it applies to your home, this is what we do:
- Every room, including the kitchen and the inside of the oven
- Bathroom surfaces, walls and ceiling
- Cupboards wiped inside and out
- Interior walls, floors and skirtings
- Windows inside and out, where we can reach them
- Glass doors and glass surfaces throughout

Room by room
Every house is set up differently, so our checklists bend to fit the job. This is roughly how a deep clean runs through a home.
Kitchen
Cupboards and drawers are emptied of crumbs and cleaned inside and out. We degrease the splashback, hob, extractor fan and tiles, and clean the oven properly if it’s built in. The sink and taps get a stainless steel clean, and we pull out what we can to get behind the appliances.
Bathrooms
Baths, toilets, showers and basins are descaled and every surface is sanitised. Shower heads, mirrors and taps are polished. We scrub the walls and floor to lift mould and marks, and we don’t forget the ceiling, the extractor fan or the door handles.
Bedrooms and living areas
This is mostly dust: shelves, lamps, light fittings, TV stands and skirting boards. Built-in cupboards are cleaned inside and wiped outside. Walls are washed with sugar soap to take off marks, and the tops of doors get done with a step ladder.
Windows and blinds
All windows and blinds are cleaned, using telescopic poles for the ones that are hard to reach.
Floors and skirtings
The floor decides the method. Tiles are mopped and the grout scrubbed if it needs it, wooden floors get a product made for wood, and vinyl gets its own treatment.
Walls and ceilings
We use step ladders and sugar soap to take marks off the walls and clean the ceilings.
Carpets and upholstery
Carpets, couches, chairs and mattresses are extraction cleaned. These are optional extras, so tick them on the form if you want them done. See carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning for more.
Deep clean or regular clean?
A regular clean is the vacuum, the mop and a wipe of the surfaces. It keeps a tidy house tidy. A deep clean goes end to end and gets to the places a normal clean skips: inside the cupboards, behind the fridge, along the skirtings and up on the light fittings.
It takes longer and costs more than a regular clean, which is why we price each home separately. The size of the place, the number of bathrooms and how much needs doing all count.
After building work
Straight after renovations is one of the best times for a deep clean. Fine dust gets into everything, and paint marks need the right products. Deep cleaning questions
What is the difference between a deep clean and a standard clean?
A standard clean is the routine stuff, mostly vacuuming, mopping and wiping. A deep clean covers the whole house end to end, including the parts that only get done once in a while. It also costs more.
What does your deep cleaning service include?
The whole inside of the house: kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, lounge, dining room, scullery and anything else under the roof. The list above shows what that means in practice.
Are your cleaners vetted and insured?
Yes. Every cleaner is fully vetted and trusted to work without supervision, and we’re fully insured.
Do I need to supply anything?
No. The team brings all the products and equipment, including vacuums and ladders.
Do I need to be home while you clean?
No. We just need a way in when we arrive. Please be back, or have someone there, when we finish so the place can be locked up.
How many cleaners will you send?
That depends on how much there is to do. A bigger home or a heavier clean gets a bigger team, and we’ll tell you when we send the quote.
