The Quiet Relaxing Suburb
Bergvliet: A Piece of Van der Stel’s Original Constantia Grant
Bergvliet’s land was originally part of Simon van der Stel’s 1685 Constantia grant, divided among his heirs in 1716 after his death. The old Bergvliet Manor House survives from that era and was declared a national monument in 1989, later a Provincial Heritage Site in 2011, a rare direct link to the very earliest days of Cape farming.
Outdoor Adventures
Bergvliet sits close to the Constantia mountain range and Kirstenbosch, with Meadowridge Common’s remnant fynbos vegetation nearby and easy access to Muizenberg beach and the False Bay coast for a change of scenery.
Food and Dining
Everyday dining covers most local needs, with the Constantia wine estates a short drive away for something more special.
Family Friendly Activities
Bergvliet has an active, long-running neighbourhood watch and a genuinely settled, tree-lined character that’s made it a popular choice for families for decades.
Nightlife and Culture
Life here centres on community rather than nightlife, sports clubs, schools, and neighbourhood events carry the calendar. Claremont and Constantia cover anything livelier.

Established Homes, Careful Cleaning
Bergvliet’s older, established homes often have features worth treating carefully, we adjust our approach rather than running a one-size-fits-all clean.
